B Grade Deniliquin 67 defeated Tungamah 14
Unfortunately, going into this game the girls knew it would be a tough hard game. From start to finish they played the game out trying hard to slow down Deni’s tall, and quick team.
Some changes at all quarter breaks, gave others a rest and to the girl’s credit, they fought hard all game and never gave up.
Throughout the game, there were some swift turnovers, and the Bears were able to pass the ball through the thirds and feed to shooters, but Deni unfortunately for the Bears were the strong side on the day.
Awards: Taylor Lovelace – Brewit, Jorja Goldman – Judds.

Deniliquin 89 defeated Tungamah 15
Looking at the score, Saturday was not the Bears day. Deniliquin came out strong right from the start which allowed them to take the lead and continue to build.
Plenty more to work on and improve.
Awards: Celebrations - Brooke Keenan, Brewit - Bridget Saunders.

At sunny Deniliquin the Bears knew this would be a tough game, Deniliquin being high on the ladder and short a few players again.
The girls were keen to use this game as a chance to work on their skills and an opportunity to learn from a good side.
Can say everyone did what was asked of them. At half time Sheryl asked for another 6 goals and between Katie and Sheryl they did.
Vanessa’s determination and effort to go every ball got her key turnovers and a lot of taps. Stacie, Dan and Anna did a fantastic job to keep up with the fast pace game.
The team benefited from having the support and help of Cas, Gracie and Penny who filled in.
Awards: Thyme for coffee café – Stacie Arnold, Byramine Homestead and Brewery – Vanessa Piorek.

Second was playing third on the ladder with Deni having the home advantage.
Olivia Giggins and Chloe Laffan in shooting had a great day with the ball. It found its way to them, and they used midcourt on the goal circle and with every bounce on the ring, it seemed to grab hold of the ball and put it through to goal.
Utility player Penny Thomson (WD and GD) together with Grace Whitelock and Sarah Cummins in defence had their work cut out for them.

Deniliquin 23 drew with Tungamah 23
The girls started off slow with Deni taking their opportunities early to convert their turnovers into some very quick goals.
The Bears girls composed themselves only going down 12 goals to 9 in the second quarter.
They fought hard all day against a quality team that remains undefeated and showed why they are the bench mark on top of the ladder.
The girls should be very proud of themselves as Tungamah are the highest scoring team against them so far.
Keep working hard girls it’s definitely paying off with how far you all have come this season.
Awards: Fish and chips - Hayley Webster, Subway - Aleera O’Bryan, McDonalds - Savannah Wallden, Pizza - Jade Ralph.

The final score did not reflect the game, it was not one sided at all, Tunga got plenty of the ball, Deni’s shooters just never missed a goal.Coach Deb changed it up a little this week and all the girls stood up to the challenge and played really well.
Elli in goals all game and wow her support in the ring was awesome, she would use the ring players to get closer to the goals as well as re-lead if needed.
Maddy proved that WA is her position, her speed at the centre passes ensured she was always there to receive that first pass.
With the unseasonal hot conditions the girls were playing in, Shylee needed a rest in the 3rd quarter after playing C and running nonstop around the court always being whereever she needed to get every 3rd or 4th pass during play.
Emily B stepped into C in the 2nd half and showed some excellent netball wisdom by reading the play down the court and was able to get many intercepts to turn the play around, her feet didn’t stop moving for the entire game. Both Chaye and Alani had a tough day; in that they played attack one half and then swapped to defense in the 2nd.
As a shooter Chaye’s passes were like rockets and she moved the ball so well around the ring, the look of pure happiness on her face when she shot her first goal was what the game of netball is all about.
Alani sunk some long - range goals during the game but also excelled in defense, never letting her player get away from her.Molly as WD and GK and her arms were always in the air defending the ball.
Both Molly and Emily C held their ground on the ring for throws in, which made Deb very happy. Emily C passed the ball accurately as WD and cleared space down the court making it easy to get the ball to the attack end.Well done to the mini Bears, everyone kept their heads up and smiles on during the game and kept pressuring Deni till the very end.Awards: Crusty Loaf - Chaye Saunders, Subway - Emily Casley, McDonalds - Emily Buerckner.
