In front of a huge crowd of parents, grandparents and a large contingent of A grade players it was left to Co-Captain Ben Kennedy (17no) to hit the winning boundary in the final over the match.
Earlier in the day fellow Co-Captain Lachie Phillips stamped his class on the contest with a superb spell of bowling (2 for 7) which he followed up with a mature innings of 30 (rtno) to put his team in a winning position.
Jobe Fraser was impressive with the bat pouncing on anything short in well-made 30 (rtno). This followed his good spell of leg spin with 1 for 10.
Impressive leg spinner Tom Lovell was a standout with the ball taking the impressive figures of 1 for 12 off his three overs whilst Daniel O’Brien and Ollie Connell bowled important spells late in the innings to restrict the Delatite total to 8 for 96.
The team who has now won their last four games will take on Rovers United Bruck Green in the Under 16 Grand Final on Saturday, March 12 and Sunday, March 13 at the WJ Findlay oval, Wangaratta.
About to pull the ball through mid-wicket is Lachlan Phillips in the Under 16s semi-final.
