Corowa's Rowers claimed five wins at the club’s first regatta for the season held in Bendigo over the 500m course on Lake Weeroona.

The club had a smaller contingent of rowers competing due to year 12 exams, but the club still finished in equal 3rd place against strong Melbourne crews.
The Male Masters Quad Scull of Brad Pearsall, Lachie Seymour, Nick Wragge, Alex Schultz, and cox Liam Fitzgerald featured in the club’s first final.
Giving away a head start to their older opposition, the Corowa crew made a strong move but fell just short to the Hamilton crew.
Julie Underwood took on the Victorian representative from Ballarat in the master’s single.
With little separating the two scullers, Julie worked hard finishing second by less than a second.
The club had two entries in the Female C Grade Double Scull.
Imogen Wragge and Alexandra Conway teamed up against club mates Elizabeth Sandow and Tamasin Burch.
The 2nd heat featured Imogen and Alexandra, and the crew showed fantastic speed to take the lead and record the win.
The 3rd heat featured Tamasin and Elizabeth, and they were determined to join their club mates in the final.
A tight battle was on show down the course as the Corowa crew held on for the win and progressed to the final.
With 4 crews lining up, little separated the crews at the halfway mark.
Imogen and Alex made their move to move clear and in a final sprint took the win, with Tamasin and Liz finishing strongly in 4th place.
Second year rower Eily Taylor made her first trip to Bendigo lining up in the Female U17 Single Scull.
Needing to win her heat to progress through to the final, Eily showed her hard work over the winter was paying off to finish strongly over the last 20 strokes to claim the win.
With 3 scullers lining up in the final, Eily moved clear with the Geelong sculler and in a tight finish Eily fell less than half a second behind crossing the line.
Brad was keen to race in a single over the sprint course. Lining up in the master’s event, Brad gave a head start to his older opposition.
Brad and the Victorian representative moved clear of the field as Brad was catching with every stroke but fell just short on the line.
The club’s Female C Grade Quad featured Alexandra, Eily, Liz, Grietje and cox Liam Fitzgerald.
Up against a fast school crew, the Corowa quad was in a battle to progress through to the final.
With the finish line fast approaching, the early lead was too much to make up with the Corowa crew finishing less than a second behind.
Lily Rose and Imogen teamed up in the A Grade Double Scull. Having their first race together, the crew were keen to test themselves against strong opposition.
The newly formed crew showed great timing and technique to move through the field to claim the win and move through to the final.
A great display of sculling was on show in the final with the Corowa crew keeping pace with the Geelong crew.
In a tight finish, the Corowa crew finished in second place, gaining great confidence for the season ahead.
Marcus Davies featured in the first heat of the U15 Single Scull with a top 2 finish required to progress through to the final.
Little separated Marcus and the local sculler as both boys moved clear and progressed. Marcus was determined to improve on his heat row, as once again his opposition from the heat moved clear.
In a final sprint to the line Marcus showed great poise to hold on for a great win.
The Female Masters Quad crew featured Julie, Grietje, Alexandra, Liz and Eily for her first race as a coxswain.
The Corowa crew took the early lead and rowed a strong race to claim the win.
The Female A Grade Single Scull event featured Lily Rose and Alexandra with a heat win required to move into the final.
Alexandra lined up in the first heat and showed great boat speed against a quality field, finishing in 3rd place.
Lily Rose featured in the 2nd heat and with an excellent start she took the early lead to take the win and progress into the final.
With 4 scullers lining up in the premier sculling event, Lily Rose was in a great battle with the Ballarat sculler.
With the lead changing throughout the race, it came to the final sprint with the Ballarat sculler holding on for the win and Lily Rose claiming a confidence-building 2nd place.
Marcus lined up in the C Grade Single Scull testing himself against open opposition. Marcus showed great speed to finish in 2nd place behind the Richmond sculler as he gains much needed racing experience for the season ahead.
The Mixed Masters Quad Scull crew featured Elizabeth, Nick, Tamasin, Alex, and coxswain Eily.
In a real battle with the Rutherglen crew over the sprint course, the Corowa crew finished in 2nd place.
The Open Mixed Quad Scull crew featured Liam Fitzgerald, Lachie Seymour, Alexandra, Imogen, and coxswain Julie Underwood.
The Corowa crew showed great teamwork to take the lead from the start to record a great win.
The Female Masters Double crews featured Julie and Grietje, and Elizabeth and Tamasin.
First up was Elizabeth and Tamasin who rowed strongly together to finish in 3rd place. Julie and Grietje teamed up against half of the Victorian quad scull crew from Ballarat. Both doubles moved clear of the rest of the field, and the final sprint saw the Ballarat crew hold off the Corowa double to claim the win.
Brad and Lachie lined up in the A Grade Double Scull against a strong field. The Corowa crew rowed a fast time, finishing in 3rd place.
Eily lined up in the 4th heat of the C Grade Scull needing to win to progress through to the final.
Eily keeps learning with each race as she moved into 2nd place as she sets herself up for the season ahead.
The final event for the club was the Mixed Double Sculls. With crews entered, up first was Lachie and Alexandra.
Having their first race together, the newly formed crew finished in 3rd place.
The 2nd final featured two Corowa crews — Brad and Lily Rose, and Liam and Imogen. The younger Corowa crew, Liam and Imogen, threw out the challenge to take the early lead, with Brad and Lily Rose moving off the rest of the field to sit in 2nd place.
With both Corowa crews sitting out in front, the final sprint saw Brad and Lily Rose make their move to take the lead and win, with the younger Corowa crew in 2nd place.
