Murray Bushrangers Talent Pathways Coach Mark Brown said both Tom and Caleb have progressed through the ranks, the Bushrangers feeder programs and have been great inclusions for the club.
Seventeen-year-old, 201cm ruckman Tom has played four games and is leading the sides hit outs with his height and competitiveness holding him in good stead.
187cm midfielder, 17-year-old Caleb has played seven games with his best coming against top of the ladder Gippsland Power where he had 31 disposals, two goals, 19 kicks, 12 handballs and seven marks.
“Tom virtually came back to footy this year as he hasn’t really played any for a few years due to focussing on his basketball as well as the pandemic,” Mark said.
“He has been impressive with his best game occurring against the Northern Knights where he had 25 hit outs, kicked a goal, had six disposals, three kicks and handballs and two inside 50s.
“His height and competitiveness have seen him lead our hit outs.
“Caleb is starting to reap the rewards of his hard work and is tracking north since the start of the season.
“His ability to cover ground and his step are just a touch of brilliance.
“The wing is a pivotal role in the AFL at the moment with his ability to play on the wing stacking up strong.
“Both boys are exceptional young men with Tom a really likeable, laid-back young bloke and Caleb the same with a great sense of humour.
“They have been great inclusions in our club both on and off the field.
“Both of the boys will be on the radar of Vic Country selectors and we can’t wait to see how they go.”
The Bushies next match sees them take on the Bendigo Pioneers in Mildura on June 19.
