The finals of the spring competition was held on December 5 and a small tournament was arranged by John for all the juniors who were not in finals action.
Afterwards a spread of all sorts of goodies was soon devoured by the kids. The club hopes you will all be back next season.
The main action kicked off with the B Grade final played between the Bulldogs team of Estelle and Warren Anderson against the Dockers team of Harry and Pat Cummins.
This went right down to the doubles to decide the winner with the Cummins duo winning 3/2.
Harry says he had to carry the old man to victory. The Anderson team were right in the match until the end but couldn’t finish off their good work.
A Reserve
A Reserve Runners Up (Back Row) Rod Vodusek and Evan Kibble with winners Roxy Cameron, Tess Bassett and Hayley Bennett.
This match had the makings of a major boil over when Evan Kibble played the game of his life to beat the highly rated Hayley Bennett.
As hard as Rod Vodusek tried he could not overcome Tess Bassett who sang and danced her way to victory.
From then on Hayley regained her composure to beat Rod in a close and entertaining encounter and Tess went on her merry way to defeat Evan and win yet another title for the girls which also consisted of Roxy Cameron.

The Table Tennis Club is sad to see long standing junior Hayley Bennett leaving. Hayley was successful in gaining a scholarship to a boarding school.
The YMTTA would like to congratulate Hayley on this achievement and wish her well with her schooling over the coming years.
A Grade
A Grade Runners Up Grant Chappell and John Maletta with winners Austin and Andrew Lindner.
In this section you could not have asked for a better exhibition of how to play this wonderful game.
With the CMCU team of Grant Chappell and John Maletta taking on the hard-hitting Lions team of Andrew and Austin Lindner from Wangaratta it was sure to be a cracker of a match.
The steady but deadly accurate stroke making of John and Grant proved to be a good tactic against the speed of the Lindner Brothers.
When the singles rubbers were finished the teams were even and so it came down to the deciding doubles match to get a winner.
This match had everything you’d expect from top players but to the Lions credit, they hung on to win the match 4/3 over 7 gruelling games to win the A Grade Pennant.
