Yarrawonga 34 defeated by Corowa 46
A very warm day with a slightly different team than last year.
Welcome to Rebecca Carlyle in defense, and handy fill in Laura Davis.
A very hard and fast game, both teams came out firing.
By half time the Pigeons were slightly up, but that quickly changed in the third quarter with Corowa having a huge goaling run with a 17 goal quarter to Yarrawonga’s 6.
Defeated on the day by a strong Corowa Rutherglen side, it was great to see young players coming up through the ranks.
Awards: Massage by Anon (Players player) Bec Carlyle; Burke’s Hotel (Coaches pick) Indi Frauenfelder; Mint Boutique award – Bec Carlyle.
B Grade

Another intense game with lots to prove from both sides.
Welcome back to new shooter Laura Gorman who had a great game and to talented fill-ins Paris Bonat and Abbey Jones.
The girls led at each change, with Corowa Rutherglen coming back in the third quarter, but just wasn’t enough in the end.

C Grade
Yarrawonga 46 defeated Corowa 43
What a great game to watch, a fast-high energy game which saw the Pigeons collect their first win for the season.
New recruit Elle Brooks played C Grade this week, along with Leah Rowe who played her first Yarrawonga game.
With a few injuries already, under 16 players Kyah Harvey and Eloise Lynch stepped up and did a great job.
Also in the team this year is Georgia Lawless who played Under 16s last year.
The girls were even at three-quarter time.
With Corowa Rutherglen missing a lot of goals in the last quarter and Yarra much more accurate, the Pigeons were able to increase their lead capitalizing with a win in the last.
Tayla Bogle playing defence had lots of intercepts.
Awards: Bella Pelle (Player’s player) - Tayla Bogle; One Zach (Coaches pick) - Caitlin McNamara; Mint Boutique award – Tayla Bogle.

A very close game all day saw Corowa Rutherglen have a large last quarter to come away with a win.
Lots to take away from their first game, the Pigeons new Under 16 side shows loads of potential.
Some great passages of play and a great game to watch.
