Wodonga 30 defeated by Yarrawonga 47.
An evening match, yet it still rains at the Wodonga Bulldogs – the game started fine but ended up being rather wet.
Throughout the game the Pigeons had good patches of play but unfortunately lacked consistency for the four quarters.
However, up by 10 goals going into the last quarter, the intensity and whole court defensive pressure lifted, taking the lead to 17 goals at the final siren.
Laura Irvine was awarded players’ player with her beautiful drive all game and steady hands into the goal circle.
Jackie Oswald was also awarded for her defensive pressure and the drive she added to the attack end in the last quarter.
The girls will look to put four strong quarters together this weekend against the Raiders.

B Grade
Wodonga 26 defeated by Yarrawonga 49.
With a few girls missing this week, B Grade had to adapt to some changes against Wodonga Bulldogs.
To their credit, after a shaky start, the girls composed themselves and came away with a solid win. They consistently applied great pressure all over the court, with Liv Lovell’s strong hands creating many turnovers.
Jedda Nolen was reliable in defence, as well as providing strong drives down the court.
The team welcomed Sabrina Finch, who played her first game for Yarrawonga.

C Grade
Wodonga 27 defeated by Yarrawonga 71.
After a draw last week, the C grade team were keen to get off to a good start against a tough Bulldogs outfit.
The girls stuck to the team plan, causing lots of turnovers through great team defensive pressure. Dee Moon ran all day in attack providing headaches for the defence.
Zoe Jones and Bree Bailey were steady in attack feeding an accurate Eliana Martin who is settling well into a new look attack.
Several rotations were utilized in defence with Macey Hicks, Rennae Ellen and Tess Byrne combining well and proving too strong for the Bulldogs.

Under 17s
Wodonga 39 defeated by Yarrawonga 47.
The first quarter begun with a number of unforced errors from the Under 17s side.
They were startled by the tough woman-on-woman stance from the Wodonga team and took most of the quarter to fight back to be one goal ahead at quarter time.
With a small change to the attacking strategy, the girls came out flying in the second quarter.
They were almost untouchable and showed confidence and flair all over the court.
The Bulldogs steadied in the second half of the match pulling back the deficit to 8 goals.
Youngster Morgan McRae and vice-captain Kyah Harvey were named best-on-court.
