The 2025 program saw record participation, as boys and girls from all over the community came together to learn, play and enjoy the great game of basketball.
“Our coaches have done an amazing job and you can really see how the kids have improved,” Aussie Hoops coach and co-ordinator Amanda Wheaton said.
“There was lots of fun over the season and the last few weeks have been really exciting to watch the players in action in game situations, showcasing the skills they’ve learned.”
The Prep Girls group celebrate a great year.
Throughout the season, players developed not just their basketball skills, but also teamwork, confidence and a love of the sport.
Parents and supporters packed the sidelines in the last few weeks, cheering on the next generation of hoop stars as they dribbled, passed and shot their way through a series of friendly matches.
Amanda expressed her gratitude to all the volunteers, junior coaches and families who made the season possible.
Archer Rhodes has a smile on his face as he runs the ball down the court.
“It’s been brilliant seeing so many smiles on and off the court – that’s what Aussie Hoops is all about,” Ms Wheaton said.
“Special thanks to our junior coaches Sienna Blick, Indy Burnett, Oscar Leary and Raffa Leary who encourage the participants and make the sessions really enjoyable.
“We can’t wait to welcome everyone back next year for more basketball fun.”
Registrations for the 2026 Aussie Hoops season will open in February, with the season starting in March.
Halle Nicholas, Rikki Thomson and Elke Handreck all compete for the ball.
