Carrington Cottages honours Sister Deirdre Jordan — an extraordinary Sister of Mercy, educator, leader, advocate and friend.
A brilliant mind with a compassionate heart, Sister Deirdre devoted her life to education, social justice and improving the lives of others.
Together with Sister Judith Redden RSM AO, Deputy Chair, she championed Carrington Cottages. Without their advocacy, connections and unwavering support, Jordan Place would not have been achieved.
With our generous benefactors choosing to remain anonymous, Carrington Cottages named Jordan Place in Sister Deirdre’s honour — recognising her instrumental role and the enduring values of the Sisters of Mercy.
Today, Jordan Place reflects what can be achieved when government, philanthropy and community unite with shared purpose.
We honour Sister Deirdre, Sister Judith Redden, the Sisters of Mercy, her family, friends and all whose lives she enriched.
