The final pillar of this Marriott line has fallen & we grieve,
as our last paternal Uncle takes his leave.
The last to guard stories of the past,
A dearly loved Uncle, free from pain at last.
In him, I glimpsed my father’s grace.
The shared expressions written on his face.
A branch has fallen from the family tree,
That stood through decades of our history.
The voices of brothers fade away,
Re-united in light, beyond the earthly day.
Laughter they shared in years gone by,
Now echoes softly in the quiet sky.
The family gather now, the circle complete,
Where grief is done and memories repeat.
No longer parted by years or space,
They welcome him into their warm embrace.
Rest well Uncle Gerald, you are loved so very much
Till we meet again, Debbie, Shan & family
