Ukraine MPs oust human rights commissioner

She took up the position as Ukraine's rights official in 2018 and has been a frequent point person for the media since Russia invaded more than three months ago.

President Volodymyr Zelenskiy's party has been rallying MPs against Denisova recently.

In addition to finding fault with her efforts to set up humanitarian corridors to help populations stuck in war zones, she was accused of showing little commitment to initiating prisoner exchanges with Russia and to defending the rights of prisoners of war.

No decision was initially made on Denisova's successor.
