Attendees at the recent Oaks Day luncheon at ClubMulwala dug deep to support local charity ‘Country Hope’, contributing $4000 to support families of seriously ill children.

ClubMulwala donated all proceeds of the Major Raffle held at the event, consisting of a range of donated items from local businesses.

Country Hope representative Karen Jones organised the raffle and was blown away by the support shown by the Oaks Day attendees.

“Not only did the charity receive fabulous support on the day, but large sum donations were made directly to the charity afterwards,” Ms Jones.

Ms Jones also described the work of the Country Hope charity and thanked ClubMulwala and the Oaks Day attendees as well as the many businesses that donated prizes for the Raffle.

“Country Hope provides family centred support programs to country children diagnosed with cancer or other life-threatening illnesses,” Ms Jones said.

“We recognise that childhood cancer and other chronic life-threatening illnesses place incredible stress on the family.

“For this reason we are dedicated to developing support programs and services that address the needs of the entire family.

ClubMulwala Functions Co-ordinator Lisa Ramadge believes the value of the support given by Country Hope really resonated with the audience, some of whom have known families that have found themselves facing many challenges when a child is diagnosed with a serious illness.

“ClubMulwala is proud to support the fundraising efforts of Country Hope so that they can continue to support local families,” Ms Ramadge said.

“Many thanks to all the attendees at the luncheon for supporting this wonderful cause and to Karen Jones for conducting it.

“We are thrilled that $4000 was raised for families in need.”
