Two males, one from Yarrawonga and the other from Shepparton, are being interviewed at Yarrawonga Police Station in connection with an illegal and illicit tobacco raid this morning in Belmore Street, Yarrawonga.

Australian Border Forces (ABF) Illegal and Illicit Task Force, and Victorian Police joined forces in the raid, with ABF seizing a number of exhibits relating to offences against the Commonwealth Customs Act.
Illegal cigarettes and other smoking paraphernalia were removed from the premises of a shop.
Police investigations are ongoing.
This morning, Cobram Criminal Investigation Unit and Australian Border Force executed three search warrants in Yarrawonga, at two retail stores in Belmore Street and a residential – a drugs warrant and evidence warrant for Victorian Police and a customs warrant for Border Force; also a commercial premises in Barooga,” Detective Senior Constable Leah Booth of Cobram CIU told the Yarrawonga Chronicle.
In another, unrelated situation, two persons from Canberra, a male and female, are expected to be charged and appear in court at a later date over the alleged theft in Belmore Street believed to be carried out on Wednesday, April 28 of clothing from a sports retail shop and of ornaments from Fresh Décor.
