On Friday, September 25 (Grand Final Eve) the Yarrawonga and Border Branch of CWA held a popular pop-up stall, hosted inside the entrance foyer at our local Yarrawonga Bunnings.

Customers who may or may not have purchased a Bunnings sausage outside were then tempted by traditional scones (would it be a CWA cake stall without scones), cakes, slices, relish and more as they came into the store.
The CWA ladies had been busy baking, and the tasty treats were sold out by 1pm.
The raffle prizes were made up of goods and vouchers donated by local businesses and CWA branch members along the theme of a ‘Grand Final BBQ – Party Starter’.

The lucky winners were 1st place : Kerry and 2nd place : Demmi. Both winners were local ladies who had a fantastic start to the long weekend.
The CWA is known for their craft skills as well as their cooking and they will be entering jointly in the ‘Club Exhibit Competition’ section of the Yarrawonga Mulwala Agricultural Show.
Many members will also have individual entries in various sections of the show and they would encourage everyone to check out the show schedule online and consider making an entry themselves. Craft, cooking and photography are all good conversation and friendship starters.
2026 is the ACWW (Associated Country Women of the World) International Year of the Woman Farmer.
Many women in Yarrawonga and Mulwala are either currently involved in, or have a background in, farming and agribusiness.
Local women are entering a lot of the show categories, judging exhibits and working behind the scenes.

A successful evening expression of interest event was held on Wednesday September 23 with regard to the formation of a night branch of CWA.

If successful in 2027 there may be two separate CWA club exhibits in the local show.
The local CWA branch (Yarrawonga & Border CWA(Vic)) will be having a stall at the Seniors Expo event in Yarrawonga on Wednesday October 7, 1-3pm.
