Rotary lifts primary school donations

The Yarrawonga Mulwala Rotary Club has lifted its annual donation to the town’s primary schools to $3000 in response to cost of living pressures.

For the last three years, the club has donated $2000 each to Yarrawonga P-12 College and Sacred Heart College’s Primary School divisions to help financially disadvantaged families with excursion fees, stationery, uniforms and other expenses.

Rotary president Ron Kennett said cost-of-living pressures prompted the club to boost its Schools Support Program, giving another $1000 each to the schools.

The funds were raised via raffles at Rotary’s monthly market at the Yarrawonga Showgrounds.

“Market goers gave very generously knowing the funds were going towards the schools support program,” Mr Kennett said.

Raffle prizes were donated by ClubMulwala, Blooms Chemist, Rich Glen, Nagles Butchers, Terminus Hotel and Criterion Hotel.
