Screening first from Italy is the haunting film, Trifolie, (PG). A bittersweet portrait of a vanishing rural way of life.
Dalia travels to the Piedmont region of Italy to care for her aging grandfather, an expert forager of rare white truffles. Guided by his loyal dog Birba, she goes hunting for a prizewinning truffle to save her grandfather from eviction.
Screening second is an intriguing film from Japan, The Cats Of Gokogu Shrine, (G). The street cats of a coastal Japanese village are followed and their interactions with the local residents recorded.
The documentary maker observes their coexistence, and explores the challenges and joys of living with them, as well as the cultural and economic changes the cats have brought to the area.
These films will screen on Saturday, May 30 at 6pm and Sunday, May 31 at 5pm.
Benalla Camera Club
Our next general meeting will be held on Wednesday, June 3 at the Faithfull St PAC of Benalla College starting at 7.30pm. All members and interested members of the public are welcome to attend.
We ask for a gold coin donation to attend. This meeting we will be conducting a light painting evening, consisting of taking photos using fairy lights, coloured torches, battery operated LED strip lights and various other pieces of equipment.
Using this equipment, we will create patterns and shapes in the darkness. Attendees will need to bring a tripod (if you have one) and your camera. We can help with setting up your camera to take the photos. It will be a fun evening. Contact Joe on 0412 567 686 if you have any queries.
