This initiative aims to support local communities to celebrate the festive season with a variety of events and activities that bring people together and share the holiday fun.
Past years have seen the funding support town decorations, community barbecues, Carols by Candlelight events, end-of-school concerts, and much more.
Applications are now open for this year’s Festive Funding, and Moira Shire chair administrator, Dr Graeme Emonson encouraged community groups and organisations to take advantage of this great opportunity.
“Christmas is a wonderful time for our community to come together, and the Festive Funding program helps to this foster community spirit,” Dr Emonson said.
“Funding is available for small and large towns, ensuring Christmas cheer can be spread across the Shire.”
Up to $2,000 will be made available to organisations in Yarrawonga to decorate or run an event and up to $1,000 to celebrate a culturally significant day.
Only one grant will be awarded per town or cultural event.
Eligible community groups are encouraged to submit applications that demonstrate a clear benefit to the local community and promote participation and enjoyment for all ages.
Applications close on August 31, 2026 with all the details and application on the Moira Shire website.
