Gamer’s Resort has moved to a new location at 20 Edward St where the gaming community can have more room while they share their passion for trading cards, role-playing games and virtual reality.

The building used to be home to Shepparton Legacy, and current owner Ben Ladson fondly recalled his mother playing carpet bowls there.
Mr Ladson saw the site was for sale and took the opportunity to move Gamer’s Resort from its old location in Maude St into a more spacious building with large windows that let in plenty of natural light.
The move would have taken weeks if it wasn’t for the assistance provided by volunteers, who completed the work so the store could be up and running the next day.
Mr Ladson was thankful for the efforts of local gamers and said “people I didn’t even know were coming to help”.
Gamer’s Resort hosted a free barbecue and a week-long series of competitions to celebrate the move and give back to the community.
Gamer’s Resort provides an alternative opportunity for connection for young people who are not interested in the large number of sporting options available in Shepparton.
Mr Ladson said that the regular gaming sessions and competitions were good for the mental health of the participants and were an opportunity for socialisation that some people might not otherwise have.
NDIS participants often visit Gamer’s Resort to use the virtual reality set-up and Mr Ladson has seen the effect that the outings can have.
“Some of them don’t leave the house, but then they come here and they don’t want to go home,” Mr Ladson said.
Gamer’s Resort also hosts some pro players, including Shepparton’s CobaltSanderson, real name Aaron Milne, who was ranked as world number one in 2025 for the trading card game Elestrals.
New players are always welcome’ Mr Ladson said that he often saw experienced players teaching people the games and sharing decks.
“If you’re looking for a new hobby, come in, it’s a relaxing environment here,” Mr Ladson said.
Gamer's Resort now has more space to host its tabletop gaming events.
