“Numbers have been great,” head professional James McCully told the Yarrawonga Chronicle.
“Obviously our members are loving the fact they’re back out playing again, as well as a lot of their friends from close by, and playing in glorious, sunny weather.”
It’s a resumption of golf in Victoria after an absence of seven weeks due to the Victorian Government’s decision to ban golf due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The condition of Black Bull’s championship 18-hole golf course is first class with ground staff ensuring the course was in tip top condition at all times.
Groups of four players took to the fairways at Black Bull as soon as the restrictions were lifted. “COVID-19 related playing restrictions including social distancing and no flag handling are in place at this stage,” James said.
“Everything’s all go-ahead out here. The Sebel ($40 million motel complex), all the housing development at the entrance to Silverwoods, is remarkable.”
James was pleased that not just Yarrawonga Mulwala golfers were back on the Black Bull fairways, but golfers from other towns including Wangaratta and Shepparton.
