A new development in Shepparton will provide housing for key workers in healthcare, education, aged care and other essential industries supporting the Goulburn Valley community.

Goulburn Apartments at 101 Stewart St will feature 37 bedrooms across 28 apartments, and is being built by Shepparton-based company JMB Modular Buildings.
The innovative technique involves manufacturing modules on a production line in a dedicated facility and then transporting them to be assembled on site, which reduces disruption to the area.
JMB Modular Buildings is able to manufacture sections of the building in a dedicated facility and transport them to the site to minimise disruptions.

JMB Modular Buildings managing director James Briggs said that instead of neighbouring residents dealing with noise pollution from a construction site for three years, the assembling of the modules could be completed in only 48 hours.
The dedicated facility creates a controlled worksite, reducing the chance of injuries, increasing staff comfort and eliminating weather-related delays.
It also allows for the use of more sophisticated technology, reducing the required skill level for workers and opening up more jobs to the local community.
The building will feature two accessible apartments and step-free access.
An online booking system will be available from June 2027 where employers will be able to make bookings for their staff directly.
The project received partial funding from the Victorian Government’s Regional Worker Accommodation Fund and will be dedicated to key workers for a minimum of five years.
The site on Stewart St is currently being prepared for the new building that will house key workers.
