More than 200 people gathered for the official opening, welcoming GV Libraries into its new home three years after construction began in 2023.
The modern, purpose-built facility will provide residents with access to the library's much-loved programs and services, along with a host of new opportunities and resources.
A new facility for all ages. Moira Shire Council Chair Administrator Graeme Emonson with Yarrawonga P-12 Year 4 Leaders Arlo Dean, Dakoda Shaw and Lola Hammon.
The new Yarrawonga Library forms part of the first stage of the Yarrawonga Shire Hall, Library, Events and Performance Precinct development.
The facility boasts community meeting spaces, an events and exhibition area, and access to technology and digital resources previously unavailable to library users.
A new café is also expected to open within the precinct in the coming months.
The library has long been a cornerstone of community life in Yarrawonga, and the new facility will build on that legacy.

Moira Shire Council chair administrator, Dr Graeme Emonson described the opening as a major milestone for the community.
"This is one of the largest projects we have delivered for the community, and it is wonderful to see it now officially open," Dr Emonson said.
“The vision of a modern, contemporary library facility has been held by many in the Yarrawonga community for a long period of time.
"This contemporary library is so much more than books. It is a place for people of every age to learn, connect and belong.
"I congratulate everyone who helped make this happen, and I can't wait to see the community make this space their own."
Yarrawonga Library coordinator Kerry Currie was all praise for the new facility.
“We are so pleased to welcome the community to our long-awaited new library. It is such a welcoming and inclusive space,” Ms Currie said.
Ready to welcome the community to the new facility are Yarrawonga Library staff Lyndall Black, Kerry Currie and Eddie Hafon.
The overall library project was co-funded by the Victorian Government’s Infrastructure Loan Scheme and Living Libraries Infrastructure Program and Moira Shire Council.
The project has also been supported by the Yarrawonga Library Community Fundraising Committee and Friends of the Yarrawonga Library, which together raised more than $130,000 towards equipment, furniture and the library's fit-out.
Moira Shire Council reaffirmed its commitment to building a new library within the Yarrawonga Town Hall precinct back in 2018, despite opposition from some sections of the community over the proposed demolition of the old community hall to make way for the development.
The new facility has now reinvigorated Yarrawonga’s most prominent public precinct to serve the community for years to come.
