Putting the pedal to the metal
The 45th Annual Australian Tractor Pull Championships will be held at the Quambatook Tractor Pull Complex on Easter Saturday, April 8.
Quambatook is home to Australia’s first permanent purpose-built tractor pulling complex, featuring big and mini sled tracks side by side, creating an action-packed day with non-stop entertainment on the track.
Ranging from the 502ci Chev blown fuel injected ‘Quamby Quaker’ and the two-wheel drive truck 540ci Chev ‘Bad Attitude’ to the open mini modified Blown Alcohol 350 Chev, a range of modified and vintage tractors will be on display and exerting their power down the expertly prepared track.
Off the track there will be a variety of market stalls, kids’ sideshow entertainment as well as food and drink stalls.
For those with diesel in their veins, a wander through the modern trucking industry display is a must, while visitors who prefer machinery from yesteryear can explore the history of farming as equipment throughout the decades will be on show.
The program starts at 1pm and concludes at about 10pm, with the spectacular modified tractors and trucks hitting the track from 3.30pm.
An evening tea break will see the pit gates open to the public with an aerobatics display by Paul Bennet Airshows.
The track-side, fenced hills provide the safest viewing area, so bring along a rug or chair.
