On November 13, from 3.30pm to 7pm, the school will come alive with live entertainment and a jam-packed program of family activities.
The aim: to bring together students, families, local businesses and the wider community for a wonderful afternoon of fun and fundraising.
Organised by the school’s Parents and Friends Committee, the event will feature rides from Zone Bendigo and It’s Party Time Shepparton ― alongside pony and camel rides from Billabong Ranch and a reptile experience with Tiny Tales.
Students will take to the stage for live entertainment alongside Dilmac Entertainment ― as well as stalls offering games and activities.
Also included is a dunk tank and bake sale, as well as local food trucks and school stalls selling fairy floss, snow cones and slushies.
Chloe Henger, of the 208 Parents and Friends Committee, said the organisers’ aim was to create an event with something for all ages.
And preparations are well and truly under way, with teachers, students and families all contributing to the event in their own meaningful ways.
“It’s a huge team effort, with everyone playing an important part,” Ms Henger said.
Each class is responsible for running its own stall, giving students a genuine opportunity to brainstorm ideas, prepare activities and take an active role on the day itself.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity for students to develop teamwork, responsibility and confidence, while also having fun,” Ms Henger said.
The fete will also feature raffles and opportunities for children to win prizes through games and activities, with local businesses supporting the event through sponsorships and donations.
All funds raised will be reinvested directly into the school, helping to improve facilities, boost resources and create new opportunities for students.
“While fundraising is an important part of the event, it’s equally important to us the fete is affordable, inclusive and enjoyable,” Ms Henger said.
“It’s an opportunity to bring our students, families, teachers, local businesses and the wider Echuca-Moama community together for a really enjoyable afternoon.”
Ms Henger extended her heartfelt thanks to the Parents and Friends Committee, school staff, parent volunteers, sponsors and local businesses for helping make the event possible — and warmly encouraged families and members of the wider Echuca-Moama community to join in the fun.
