Local children aged 5 to 11 have started to receive the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.

“We welcomed our first group of Pfizer kids last week,” Lyndy Ronan from the Yarrawonga Medical Clinic said.

“And what a fantastic group they were!”

Bookings are now available through local GPs and pharmacies.

By vaccinating your children, you can:

•Reduce the spread of COVID-19

•Protect them from getting sick from COVID-19

•Keep schools open, so children can have more face-to-face learning and playtime with their friends.

The recommended interval for vaccination in this age group is two doses, 8 weeks apart.

The paediatric Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine reduces COVID-19 risks for children and has the additional benefit of reducing risks of transmission to older contacts.
