“Moving forward the balance will be used toward planning for Christmas 2024,” Michelle said.
“There is still more we can do and we’d like to add more impact to the street with additional lighting and decorations.
“The group would also gratefully thank the Yarrawonga Football Netball Club, Adrian Cummins, Jinx Clarke, Mick and Leigh Combridge, Ash Mulquiney, Leiticia Harmer, Deb Mortimore, Rae Davis, Cheyenne Nixon, Sarah Cummins, Jeremy Kelly, Gordon Murray and Dominic Audino for giving up some of their Saturday and Sunday to help install the decorations.
“Planning for 2024 will start in early February.”
It’s not too late to contribute, so anyone else wishing to donate can do so to the Christmas Fund at CMCU, BSB: 803.188, Acct no: 1000.30292.
“We would also love to hear from anyone wanting to be a part of the planning group; please give us a call at 0437 196 821,” Michelle added.
The best sight of the lovely Saturday afternoon, which saw the 2023 Yarrawonga Football Netball Club Premiership Pigeons out and about adding their own little Christmas cheer, was seeing Jess Koopman amongst it all as he was one of the first to put his hand up to decorate the main street.
With Michelle and Penne calling the shots, the Pigeons were up and down ladders and securing Christmas trees into roundabouts, putting baubles into the air and surrounding the trees in fairy lights which was a wonderful way for Jess to give back to a community that not so long ago got together for him.
