Tungamah Netball capped off a stellar year with a successful day in the Picola and District Grand Final with three out of four sides making the Grand Final and winning three. A year that saw most grades contend for the premiership this season making it one to remember.

Tungamah 51 def Katunga 39
BOG - Amy Reilly
The last game of the year saw Tungamah take on Katunga at Mathoura in perfect finals weather, with a premiership on the line and a season of hard work, commitment and determination coming down to one final game.
The Bears worked hard for the opening three goals before the game settled into a tight contest, with Tungamah taking a four-goal lead into the first break. The second quarter was an arm wrestle, with Katunga getting back to within a goal, but the Bears showed great composure to steady and take a five-goal advantage into half-time.
At the main break, the message was clear: this was their premiership quarter. The team spoke about how hard they had worked all season and challenged every player to lift and play the netball they knew they were capable of. Lift they did. Relentless pressure right across the court saw the Bears win the third quarter and extend the margin to nine at the final break.
With everything they had worked towards within reach, the girls dug deep in the final quarter. They continued to support one another, trusted their teammates and fought for every possession. When the final siren sounded, the Bears had secured a 12-goal victory and the B Grade premiership. It was a fantastic reward for an incredible season.
Amy Reilly was awarded Best on Court for her outstanding work at GK. Amy was relentless all game.
Lauren, Marissa and Elli were simply outstanding in the ring. Cool under pressure and standing tall when it mattered most, the three worked beautifully together, showing great patience, accuracy and confidence to keep the scoreboard ticking over.
Grace, Stacey, Caity and Mariah worked seamlessly as a unit through the midcourt, providing drive, composure and relentless pressure. Their ability to transition the ball through the court and support each other was a huge part of the Bears' success. Mariah certainly enjoyed her time all over the court.
Brodie, Tahnee, Amy and Billie-Jo fought for every turnover and rebound, forming an almost impenetrable defensive line. Their pressure, commitment and willingness to back each other up made it incredibly difficult for Katunga to find a way through.
A huge mention also goes to Mollie, whose support from the sidelines was invaluable. Her encouragement helped keep the girls lifted throughout the game.
C Grade
Tungamah 36 def Deniliquin Rovers 27
BOG - Chelsea Phillips
After the overtime loss to Deni in the first final a couple of weeks ago, the team knew it had a big challenge ahead, but one it firmly believed was within reach.
The first quarter was a tight battle, with neither team willing to give an inch. Tungamah managed to edge ahead by just one goal at the first break, but unfortunately, those little one-per-cent plays that usually seemed to go their way just were not falling for them in the first half. The scores were locked at 16-all heading into half-time.
With a few words of encouragement and the B Grade girls celebrating their premiership win fresh in their minds, the girls knew they had to dig deep in the third if they wanted the chance to experience that same feeling.
And dig deep they did.
With complete belief in each other, the girls lifted the intensity and started to find their rhythm. The passes were sticking, the pressure was building and suddenly they had managed to pull away to a four-goal lead heading into the final quarter.
They definitely were not interested in another overtime game. With that premiership medal within arm's reach, the girls put the pedal to the metal. Everything started to click at exactly the right time, and they stormed home in the final quarter to secure a fantastic nine-goal win over Deniliquin.
From the disappointment of the first final loss to the determination to come back and get the job done, this group showed incredible fight, belief and resilience.
It was a fantastic way to finish off an incredible season.
Under 15s
Tungamah 24 def by Deniliquin Rovers 30
The team arrived at Mathoura for the Grand Final with a buzz for the final game of the season.
They knew it would be a tough contest, with Deni playing an intense brand of netball.
Defensively across the court, the team applied relentless pressure and gained plenty of turnovers.
The attacking end worked hard all game under the physical pressure of the Deni defence.
The game had its ebbs and flows, with the team fighting hard to bridge the five-goal half-time deficit.
The team stayed with Deni for the second half, producing some strong passages of play. They pushed Deni across all four quarters, but in the end, Deni came away with the win.
The team is incredibly proud of how they came together this season. They all worked so hard and developed a strong bond as a team. Although they did not get the fairy-tale finish, there is a lot to celebrate for this team in season 2026.
The team wishes its top-age players all the best as they progress into Under 17s next season.
Under 13s
Tungamah 24 def Tocumwal 18
BOG - Georgie Burns
The girls took on Tocumwal in what was set to be a fantastic Grand Final. There were certainly some nerves early on that needed to be settled, but once the girls found their rhythm, they started to build momentum and play the netball they knew they were capable of.
The defensive end of Eliza, Georgie and Annabelle applied relentless pressure all day, working tirelessly and creating plenty of turnovers for the team. Their determination and ability to keep fighting for every ball was fantastic to watch.
Through the midcourt, Milli, Mia, Harper and Sophie worked incredibly hard in the hot conditions, moving the ball beautifully and feeding the goalers with patience and confidence. Taylah and Charlotte have developed such a beautiful connection throughout the season, and it was wonderful to see that continue on the biggest stage.
A special mention also goes to Kiah and Tilly, who cheered the girls on from the sidelines and have both developed so much throughout the season. Their contribution to this group has been just as important, and everyone is so proud of how far they have both come.
A huge congratulations goes to Georgie on taking out Best on Court in the Grand Final. It was a well-deserved recognition of the fantastic netball she has played all season.
