Adrien Ridley has yet again showed his immense talent with a brilliant finish at the recent Australian Snooker titles.
Adrien finished runner up to Australia’s number 1 ranked player, Steve Misfud, in the event final, having defeated him in the Fred Osborne classic in Albury last month.
Adrien’s form is rapidly improving having contested a number of tournaments and achieving very consistent results in recent times. This bodes very well for the future in Adrien’s high level snooker exploits.
September is finals time at ClubMulwala Snooker Club, in addition to a couple of other associations of high importance including the O&M, heaps of other local footy/netball leagues and the AFL.
The snooker club wish all including the Yarrawonga Pigeons and Mulwala Football and Netball club the very best of luck for their upcoming matches after long seasons of hard work and effort.
The team of Tony Cincotta, Jason Bassett and Jack Bassett have already qualified for the final of the ClubMulwala Snooker Club Spring Triples, having gone undefeated through their qualifying rounds.
This could be a huge month for Jason and Jack Bassett given family participation in netball grand finals, Jason’s beloved Blues finishing in 5th place on the AFL ladder and Jack’s Maggies taking out the minor premiership.
The other finalist will be decided through final round matches this week with two teams remaining in the running.
The September Club Challenge event on Monday, September 3 saw Nev Page in the very unusual position of taking out first place.
After a lengthy period of ordinary form and an escalating handicap advantage Nev got the choccies over Darren Edwards, who has now jumped to the lead in the Player of the Year scoring.
Mia Macheda, Martin Dermietzel and Michael Barclay are in the chasing pack and the club are guaranteed an exciting finish as this plays out over the balance of the season.
Social nights continue to be super popular with plenty of contestants joining the fray. Wednesday, August 28 saw former club champion Jake Thompson finding his way back to the table and producing excellent form to take out Mason Peters in the final.
Wednesday, September 6 was the youngest player’s night as Luca Macheda took all before him to defeat the very consistent Mason Peters.
As can be seen on the ClubMulwala website and in its members newsletter, the snooker club welcome new members or anyone who may like to give snooker a try.
ClubMulwala sponsors the snooker club very generously so value for money ratio for players is very high indeed.
There are a variety of events held every Monday and Wednesday evening and there are plenty of opportunities for new players to join or come along to try the facilities out.
The snooker club have 2 excellently maintained full size tables, which have recently been re-surfaced and a new state of the art lighting system.
The snooker room is available for competition, practice and visitor use, and the club has its own regularly updated handicapping system to ensure players from beginners to advanced level can compete equally.
There are also plenty of experienced and skilled players (including the current Oceania Masters champion) who can help with advice and tips on how to improve your game or perhaps adapt it for those who have played pub or social pool in the past.
