Wendy and Justin Robb lost to Susie Swift Brenton Ketchell; Anne Summerill and Gary Brown lost to Laurie Way and Rod Garthwaite.
The final was played between Laurie Way and Rod Garthwaite and Susie Swift and Brenton Ketchell. Congratulations go to Laurie and Rod, winning 20 shots to 12.
Social Bowlers Challenge
This annual event between the Chiltern, Rutherglen, Corowa Civic and Corowa RSL Bowls Club was held at the RSL greens on Wednesday 20 th March in unusually chilly weather.
Two teams of triples from each club played off for the Challenge Cup.
The winning team from Corowa Civic comprised Dave Harris, Glen Rowland and Clint Snow, with 3 wins, plus 12. Their second team of Jeff Smith, Peter Robinson and Darren Richards also played well to secure the Perpetual Shield for Corowa Civic this year. Next years host club will be Rutherglen.
Corowa High School
The Corowa High School team played Billabong High School on Friday 22nd March in the Combined High Schools Lawn Bowls competition.
They won 12 shots to 10. The team consisted of Nate Jones, Archie Bedford and Levi Phibbs, with Ethan Sorenson the emergency.
Thanks go to Andy Dickins, Dom Carroll and Maree Jones for coaching the team. They will now proceed to the next round of the knockout competition at a later date.
Mini - Pennant
This four- week competition starts on Saturday, April 20 at 1pm. Teams of three are to include at least one woman and entries are welcome from outside clubs.
There will be two games of sets play, (two sets of 5 ends), each Saturday. Entry is $60 per team and prizes are being sponsored by Marshall Batteries, Waldron’s IGA and Max’s Motor Museum. First prize is $450 per team, second prize is $300 per team. Contact Susie Swift or Anne Summerill to enter or pick up an entry form from outside the bowls office.
Social Bowls
Social bowls start time will revert to 1pm as of next week, 10th April. Names need to be in by 12 noon.
