The Club Championships have been run and won leaving one remaining event to round out the year, the Bruce Johnstone Memorial Cup.

Bruce was a long-term Secretary and committee man who devoted many hours to the club and all members are very keen to add their name to the honour roll of previous winners.
There is also a number of yearlong contests that are nearing completion.
Club Championships qualifying was held on Sunday, November 7 leading to the final on Monday where Jake Thompson sought revenge over father Darren who took out the title last year.
Played over a best of five frame format the match turned out to be a fascinating contest of strategy in contrast to last year’s high scoring finale. Jake jumped out to an early two frame lead but then watched Darren claw his way back to level the scores at 2 all.
The decider went down to the wire with Jake eventually knocking in the pink ball to take out this year’s title. Congratulations to both Jake and Darren on their high-quality play as they continue to dominate this event.
The Bob Organ B Grade Championship final was played on Monday, November 15 when last year’s finalists, Deb Harbrow and Ashley Nicholls, squared off again.
True to form this match also went the distance with Deb gaining victory via a win in the deciding third frame of the match.
This was especially significant to Deb as she had a very strong relationship with Bob Organ and whilst having won the B Grade Championship in the past, this was her first title since the event was named after him.
Congratulations to both players on making the final again and to you Deb on winning an event that you value so highly.
Social events were also conducted on Wednesday, November 10 and 17. Deb Harbrow showed the form that carried her through to the B Grade title when she took the chocolates over Daryl McKernan in a big field of players on November 10 and Tony Cincotta continued his return to form when he took out Nev Page on November 17 after a round robin qualifying event.
With few nights of play left this season the annual Player of The Year trophy is still up for grabs with Dan Young holding a slender lead over Tony Cincotta.
Tony’s recent social night win closed the gap to a very fine margin, so it is anticipated to be a full on contest over remaining matches to decide the winner.
The club is considering implementing security measures to mitigate any risk to either player, and the club also may see the first ever tie, leading to some form of countback or playoff to decide the winner.
Highest breaks in various grades will also be finalised soon so all players will be adopting high risk strategies in their efforts to put points on the board.
The Annual General Meeting will be held on November 29 and after a challenging couple of years the club look forward to a more stable outlook for the new committee and office bearers moving forward.
