John Wilson (s), Graeme Gordon, Gaye Goodwin and Callan Glenn led early at 4-1, but then endured a lean eight-end stretch where they only picked up a single shot to trail 5-9 on the 10th end.
From that point on, they found their form and collected a further 15 shots to lead 20-11 late in the game.
Stanhope picked up five shots on the last two ends, but the Diggers still enjoyed a four shot victory.

Wayne Bradley (s), Rod Reid, Ian Chessells and Darcy Nilsson took time to find their rhythm and trailed early.
Down 3/10, they rallied and fought their way back into the game to lead 14-12 on the 14th end.
Stanhope then picked up eight shots over the next five ends to jump to the lead 20-15 with just two ends remaining.
The Diggers then steadied, picking up the final five shots to tie the game overall.
RSL 20 tied with Stanhope 20.
Bruce Clancy (s), Neville Austion, Peter Todd and Ella Hipworth were the most impressive winners on the day.
They jumped to an early lead and maintained a comfortable break throughout the afternoon.

In Midweek Pennant, RSL Diggers’ Division 2 team will battle it out against Stanhope today at Rich River in the preliminary final for the opportunity to meet Moama in the grand final the following week.
