Under 14s
Rovers United Bruck Green v Yarrawonga Mulwala 8/218.
Bulls overcome gallant Bushrangers
Benalla Bushrangers Green 4/93 def by Yarrawonga Mulwala Bulls 7/120.
In a highly skilled game, the Yarrawonga Mulwala Bulls continued their winning form overcoming Benalla Bushrangers Green by 27 runs.
The game was played in great spirits and this was exemplified by both teams deciding to halt play at 11am to pay tribute to our servicemen and women observing the last post followed by a minute’s silence for Remembrance Day.
The Bulls lost the toss and were sent into bat by the home team. This didn’t seem to worry the Bulls batters with Byron Dodd continuing his great form with a swashbuckling 26 not out, which included four boundaries!
He was ably supported by Blair Livingston-Laing who produced a well-made 25.
Finn O’Brien (15 runs), Isaac McLarty (12 runs), Benji Wollington (11 runs) and the ever-improving Layken Saunders (5 runs) all retired not out.
After their allotted 20 overs the Bulls posted an imposing total of 120.
Benalla started the chase confidently until Isaac McLarty dismissed Benalla’s danger man Jack Hart for 9.
The upper and middle order toiled away for Benalla with Murphy Doyle and Michael Smith picking up valuable wickets to put the pressure back on the batting team.
Smith’s wicket was made possible due to a catch of the year contender from wicket-keeper Hudson Hall.
The other wicket to fall was a run out. The Bulls fielded with zest in rather steamy conditions, this was on the back of some work with specialist fielding coach Nick ‘Jonty Rhodes’ Doyle on Thursday night.
Nick would be proud of the way the boys were able to implement some strategies and techniques they were taught.
The Bulls are at home next week and face Rovers United Yellow.
Training this week and for the rest of the season will now start at 4.30pm.
Rams win at home

The Rams bowling was exceptionally tight and consistent. As such the City Colts were contained to 3 for 42 off 20 overs.

The boys are looking forward to their next hit out against Benalla.
