Shepparton United has caused a thundering shake among the Goulburn Murray Junior League landscape.

On Sunday, the Demons delivered Shepparton-Notre Bears Gold its first loss of the under-16 top division this season, winning a Deakin Reserve derby 9.6 (60) to 7.7 (49).

Despite a four-goal show from Bears phenom Alex Whitlock, the Dees were too good on the day as they etched their fifth win of the campaign and drew within eight points of the combine in joint first.

Other results had fellow leader Shepparton-Notre Bears Maroon beat Shepparton Swans 12.15 (87) to 1.6 (12), Echuca defeat Mooroopna by seven points and Tatura knock over Kyabram by a goal.

News photographer Megan Fisher was on hand to snap the Bears-Demons match in full flight.
