Godfathers President Graeme Wilson made the announcement for Graeme’s “outstanding service” at the annual golf day event, at Yarrawonga Mulwala Golf Club Resort.
“Going back to the late 1980s, the Godfathers decided they needed to diversify to raise more funds due to the increase in requests from local sportspeople to fulfil their dreams of competing at the highest level, both nationally and internationally, and obtaining their personal bests,” Mr Wilson said.
“Once again, this diversion was driven by Ken ‘Pascoe’ Ellis and it was not long after that he let go one of his famous handballs! Fortunately the ball landed in the hands of Graeme Ridley.”
Graeme has run the hiring business. “Under his leadership the extra funds have enabled many junior sportspeople to achieve their goals, something that would not have happened if it has not been the hard-working Graeme Ridley,” the Godfathers President said.
When Godfathers made the decision to award Graeme life membership, there was no prouder person than Graeme’s wife Jennifer.
Unfortunately Jen passed away early last month, missing a moment she was so looking forward to.
Graeme expressed his thanks and appreciation in respect of being awarded Life Membership.
