A classy century from Yarrawonga Mulwala’s Steve Lappin has seen the YMCC C Grade score a 109-run victory against Greta at Victoria Park Oval Number 2 in Yarrawonga.
The YMCC batted first and Lappin and new recruit Ben McDonald shared in a 62-run partnership; while Kade Sullivan made 8 in a 83 run partnership with Lappin.
Lappin finished 108 not out with 14 boundaries and 2 sixes. McDonald made 39 with to boundaries and 4 sixes. The YMCC amassed 4 for 171 off their 36 overs.
With the ball, YMCC were ruthless in dismissing Greta for 62 from 27 overs with 16 runs coming from extras.
The chief destroyers with the ball were McDonald with 3 for 14 off 8 overs and Daniel O’Brien with 2 for 18 off 6 overs.
Other wicket takers were Mitch Appleby 1 for 14 off 5 overs, Ted Graham 1 for 1 off 3 overs, Geoff Anderson 1 for 5 off 2 overs and Will Murphy 1 for 2 off 1 over.
Josh Bozzola bowled 2 over for just 1 run.
