Dayne Beams, Max Hemphill, John Tonner, Beau Seymour and Harry Haley look set to make their debut with Mulwala.
“We’ve had a strong preseason with excellent numbers across all grades,” football manager Dale Ferguson told the Yarrawonga Chronicle.
“There’s excitement about Dayne. Max, an onballer, Josh, a key position player, Beau a key position player and Harry has plenty of experience and coached Rennie.
“Overall, it’s a very committed group. The club is in a pretty strong position.”
Main ‘outs’ for the Lions are Zach Kuppens and Kaydon Sharp for work and location reasons.
Netball is also looking strong with good numbers across all grades according to Narelle Donovan. Narelle, and Stephanie Hammond, are joint coaches of the A and B Grades for season 2024.
“It’s new look A and B squads. There are very talented juniors coming through our ranks. The sentiment around the club is very good, with the way the club finished last year, especially the footballers winning the premiership and netballers making the grand final.”
Mulwala Football Netball Club President Chris McNamara has been impressed with both netball and football pre seasons.
“Now it’s time for action. I wish every player all the best and encourage all our supporters to be at Lonsdale Reserve this Good Friday. It will be a beauty,” he said.
