Week one of the 2026 Murray Football Netball League final series took place on Saturday, with several local sides progressing in their respective competitions.

Reserves
Tongala was unable to join its first-grade side in winning its reserves elimination final, going down to Finley by a point in a thrilling encounter.
The Blues and Cats matched each other for much of the contest, with the lead changing hands several times over the four quarters.

Tongala was in pole position to progress when it goaled midway through the final term, leading 36-32.
Three minutes later Finley struck a devastating blow, hitting the front again and seeing out a 6.2 (38) to 5.7 (37) win.
Though the Blues were eliminated, the finals still have local representation as Moama face Cobram in a grand final qualifier in week two.

Under-17
Echuca United was eliminated by Deniliquin Rams, being totally outmatched in a 2.2 (14) to 10.8 (68) defeat.
Moama remains in the under-17 finals, the junior Magpies also playing Cobram in a qualifying final.
Under-14

In a local clash, Echuca United proved far too strong for Moama in their elimination final, coasting to a 16.6 (102) to 2.1 (13) triumph.
The Eagles will now face Deniliquin in an elimination semi-final.
Netball

B-grade
Echuca United was eliminated after a 17-goal loss to Mulwala.
The Eagles only trailed by five goals at half-time, but a strong second half from the Lions led to them securing a comfortable 57-40 win.
Lucy Holdstock (24) and Eden Drennan (16) were Echuca United’s two goalscorers on the day.
Tongala and Moama remain in the hunt for the B-grade premiership, the duo facing each other for a spot in the grand final.

C-grade
Echuca United was also eliminated from C-grade finals after a 52-39 loss to Congupna.
Like B-grade, Tongala and Moama will also play off in the C-grade grand final qualifier.
C-reserve
Another Eagles side was knocked out in C-reserve, with Echuca United falling to Rumbalara 45-32.
Tongala and Moama are also up against each other in a qualifying final in this grade.

Under-17
Unlike their more senior club mates, Echuca United’s under-17s progressed to the semi-finals after a strong 65-31 win over Finley.
The Eagles will now face Rumbalara, while in the other semi-final, a grand final qualifier, sees Moama taking on Tongala.
Under-15
The two local sides involved in elimination finals both won, with Tongala beating Mulwala 37-35 and Echuca United defeating Nathalia 31-27.
The Blues and Eagles now face each other in the semi-finals, with Moama against Cobram for a spot in the grand final.

The Magpies now progress to a semi-final against Mulwala, while the other match-up sees Echuca United and Cobram play off for a grand final spot.
