With a change of day and time to usual fixture, the team headed to Lavington to play on Saturday evening under lights, following the seniors game.
The boys enjoyed the support of the seniors for the run onto the ground and were excited to take on the Panthers on their home turf.
Picking up where they left off last week, they got off to a good start, getting the jump early with 3 goals before Lavington were able to score, and finishing the first quarter four goal up.
Lavington put on some pressure in the second with 3 goals, but the pigeons managed to maintain the lead despite the sun set casting long shadows across the ground.
The third quarter saw a good contest across the ground, with the boys lifting with strong skills on display and good teamwork, including a dominant backline and relentless midfield, with everyone taking accountability for their roles.
The team went into the final quarter 24 points up.
A strong final quarter from the forwards included a memorable goal from the boundary from Jye Webster helping to strengthen the lead, whilst the mid and backline kept the turnovers steady to keep Lavington scoreless for the quarter, and ensuring the team got over the line with a win for Declan Reeves' 50th game.
A strong team effort, the team look forward to taking on Corowa next Sunday for the first home game.

Yarrawonga Pigeons showed early promise but were overrun across four quarters on the weekend.
The Pigeons started strongly, with Hicks providing a reliable target up forward and Wollington finishing off good work through the middle.
Under early pressure, defenders Looby, Leary and Vagg held firm as Yarrawonga trailed by just two points at quarter time, 26–24.
From there, the opposition took control, dominating possession and territory.
Despite strong tackle pressure from Bigger and continued effort in defence, the Pigeons were held scoreless through key periods as the margin stretched to 82–24 by the final break.
There were still patches of fight, particularly late in the third term, and a well-worked team goal in the final quarter highlighted what the side can produce when their intensity lifts. Casey’s tackling, Georges’s chase, and a strong contested effort from Tresize were standout moments.
The result didn’t reflect the effort in parts, but the message post-game was clear, the group has the skill, but must bring consistent intent, accountability and efficiency across four quarters.
Yarrawonga will be looking for a stronger four-quarter performance next week, with a focus on sustained pressure and cleaner ball use.
