Clear skies and crisp air made for an ideal day of golf out on the Murray, with 60 women contesting a game of Stableford.
A Grade winner was Karen Droop (22) with 37 points on a countback from runner-up Louise Cross (18).
B Grade winner was Shirley Walsh (42) with 37 points, while runner-up Karen Powell (31) finished with 36 points on a countback from Mary Hockley (29).

While it was quite wet underfoot, it was a beautiful morning for the 38 players who contested Ambrose.

Women's 2026 Broken Murray Challenge
Last week, Yarrawonga hosted the second challenge for the year as part of the biannual competition with the Numurkah golfers.
Playing in very soggy conditions and with preferred lies, Yarrawonga retained the trophy with an average of 27.9375 to Numurkah's 24.0625.
Numurkah's winner was Julie Hannaford in a three-way countback from Rosemary Rutledge and Nola Dalton, all with 29 points.
For Yarrawonga, A Grade winner was Erin York with 36 points, with runner-up Vivian Spilva on 34.
B Grade winner was Kay Clarke with 37 points, with runner-up Vicki Maree Ross on 35.
C Grade winner was Cath Lowrie with 32 points, with runner-up Janelle Zampin on 31 after a countback from Janine Walker.
NTP: 7th – Sonya Symes; 14th – Aileen Dwyer Buckley.

YMGCR Men’s Nine Holers
The YMGCR Men’s Nine Holers had a single round last Thursday after the Tuesday round was cancelled due to rain.
On Thursday, August 27, 50 players competed in a single shotgun Foursomes competition on the Exec course prior to the social day.
Bill Wyatt and John Dixon (13) prevailed with 29, with balls going to Michael Hope and Ray Minette (11) with 31.
The only NTP was on the 4th hole and was won by John Dixon.
