“This event is the final event for me for the year, and a very prestigious event to be able to qualify for,” Willett told the Yarrawonga Chronicle/The Free Press.

“I am looking forward to representing Australia again at this event, where I last competed in one back in 2019.”

The 27-year-old is in brilliant form, having returned home to Yarrawonga earlier this month and to the family’s shooting ranch in Mulwala from Oceania Championships in Brisbane where he was part of the Australian trap team.

With a score of 120/125 qualifying and 43/50 in the final, the former Corowa High School student Willett won the silver medal, narrowly missing out on the gold to Owen Robinson from New Zealand.

The next six months will be very Important, with Australian Olympic selections starting in January at the National Championships.
