No Picola United sides remain in the post-season after the Blues’ C-reserve outfit was eliminated by Katandra.
Picola led the Kats 8-5 at the first interval, and then extended its advantage to five goals by half-time, up 16-11.
An even third quarter, where both sides scored eight baskets, meant the Blues still held a solid lead heading into the fourth, but Katandra turned the game on its head down the stretch.
The Kats outscored Picola 12-6 to finish, edging the thrilling contest 31-30 as the Blues exited in devastating fashion.
Under-15s
There was better news for Mathoura in the under-15s, as the Timbercutters defeated Tocumwal by four goals to progress.
The two sides were well matched during the first half, with Mathoura only leading 14-13 at half-time.
It would make its move throughout the second half, outscoring the Bloods 13-10 across the third and fourth periods to run out a 27-23 winner.
The Timbercutters now face Tungamah in a preliminary final.
Under-13s
Mathoura wasn’t able to see both of its remaining sides progress, as its under-13s lost by nine goals to Jerilderie.
The Timbercutters were largely outmatched throughout, with an 8-4 second period from the Demons key to a 24-15 victory.
