Tungamah faced a real contest early against Mathoura, with the game proving to be a tough battle from the outset until the Bears unleashed.
Lach Phillips stood tall and put the side on his back when it mattered most, helping hold the team together and bringing Nathan Hill into the game down forward.
Drew Haebich was outstanding around the contest, really getting in and under the footy, while James Lyall’s pressure around the ground was something to behold.
Snowy Adkins also showed why he is such a crafty small forward, creating plenty of opportunities around goal.
The second term saw Mathoura lift the pressure, but Tungamah responded strongly through key forward Ash Saunders, who rose to the challenge in a dominant display up forward, finishing with a huge bag of 10 goals.
Damon Thomas also continued to take his role in the senior side to another level, giving the midfield first use all day.
Brad Ward and Josh Cheek took full advantage of his ruck work around the ground and were influential through the middle.
The younger brigade also impressed, with juniors Archie Doyle, Jett Bamford and first-gamer Luke O’Brien all playing their roles and showing plenty for the future.
At the other end of the experience scale, Glen Dominick celebrated his 100th senior game in style, using his poise and skill to help steady the side and guide the boys over the line by 92 points.

The club was not about to sacrifice the gate takings for its favourite son Travis Hayes’ 200th.
The magnitude of the day became immediately obvious when Nick Megarity arrived at the correct ground at 8:02am — a level of punctuality usually reserved for “happy hour”.
The icing on the cake was the return of Big Irv to the Lunch Time Legends, parked deep forward alongside Cam Nye, with the two bulls told to “just sort it out”.
The big fella even claimed a rundown tackle, although from the sidelines it looked more like a shove in the back. Either way, they were happy to pay it.
Most of the ground missed Jezza’s hanger, but according to him it was Moorcroft-esque.
Apparently the reason he stayed up there so long was because his fear of heights kicked in and he needed a minute to plan the landing. NASA is currently reviewing the footage.
Patches Bourke donated a new magnet after chopping it up last year and rolled back in for game two.
No man on earth feels the pressure of Ressie’s football more than a bloke who has spent three years publicly executing others for basic skill errors.
So, while he claimed he “meant” to dribble one through off a 92-degree bounce near the point post, the relief afterwards suggested it was not talent.
Jack Clarke was back to his crafty best.
Jaydo turned in another ridiculous performance.
Chessell’s would have needed a trailer to get the silverware home after collecting best-on honours across Tungamah thirds, Mathoura thirds and the Tunga Ressies.
JJ landed in the best again with his contested game.
It was a great win for one of the club’s most humble and selfless footballers, Travis Hayes.
Elite on the field, even better off it, and the sort of bloke clubs are built around.

This week saw Tungamah take on an undermanned Mathoura side, with all players rotating through and playing a quarter for Mathoura each.
The young Bears started very well, kicking six straight goals with superb accuracy in the first quarter to take a strong lead into quarter-time.
The second quarter saw a new bunch of players pull on the Timbercutter jersey, giving the younger guns a chance to shine, which they did well.
Moving the ball well around the ground, Tungamah went into half-time leading by 53 points.
Going into the second half, the Bears continued their good form, working hard on some of the areas they had been trying to improve to take a commanding lead into three-quarter time.
Heading into the last quarter, it was yet again a new-look team, with all players performing well and getting the chance to try new positions all over the field.
The game was played in good spirit, with entertainment from the goal umpire to match. Good work, Michelle.
The young Bears still have some areas to continue working on, with some challenging games ahead in the coming weeks, but there is confidence they are up to it.
It was a great team effort, and the coaches were really impressed with how well the players performed while playing for the opposition against their own teammates and with the effort they all put in.

Tungamah 45 defeated Mathoura 20
Tungamah started the game a little slower than expected, missing a few early opportunities that would normally be converted with confidence.
With the unusual heat for this time of year, fatigue set in early and resulted in a few uncharacteristic skill errors across the court.
Despite that, the girls’ defensive effort never dropped away.
The relentless pressure and communication from Jorja and Sarah kept the ball locked in the attacking end for long periods, but Tungamah could not quite capitalise on the scoreboard early, allowing Mathoura to stay in the contest.
After a few calming words and a reminder to slow things down and trust the game plan, the girls responded brilliantly.
They began to settle into their rhythm, make smarter decisions with ball in hand, and finally turn their hard work into scoreboard pressure.
Amy was welcomed back for her first game since Round 1.
She slotted seamlessly back into the side as if she had never missed a beat, constantly attacking the contest and applying pressure to the defenders all game.
There are still a few little areas to tidy up at training next week, but the coaches could not have been happier with the way the girls regrouped, composed themselves and lifted in the second half to finish strongly.
