On Sunday evening Yarrawonga Lawn Tennis Club held their presentation evening. This night celebrated the immense success of the 2021/22 season. It was one of the largest crowds in memory with standing room only and many attendees flowing outside.
A record number of pizzas were consumed, and the desserts provided by the families were amazing.
President Daryl Bennett was the MC for the evening and spoke glowingly of the health of the club and ever-increasing membership.
Yarrawonga Lawn Tennis Club continues to provide a fantastic family environment and is proud of the reputation it has in the tennis community.
Awards were presented for the Saturday morning juniors, junior club championships and senior club championships. This meant there were a variety of award winners from juniors through to the veterans ranks.
The premier award each season is the Club Person of the Year. This year this award went to Ash Wheaton. Ash has been the organiser of the Tuesday Mens Competition for 10 years and is responsible for around 50 men having a hit on a regular basis.
The acknowledgment of Ash’s efforts made him a very worthy winner of the Club Person of the Year.
Over the past few weeks, the awards have been recognised in the Chronicle. The remaining senior awards are listed.
