Taking on the undefeated co-ladder leaders Katandra, the Hoppers had a crack all day but were beaten comfortably.
Rennie stayed in the contest, with Lewie Taylor garnering plenty of possessions, Kirchen creating space to work in around the ground, Bourke holding the defence together, Cope coping with the pressure and showing his mates how quality ball use was achieved, and Will Taylor ferocious with his tackling.
A huge shout-out goes to Josh Soutter, who continues to crack in each week.
L. Taylor and Bruce kicked two goals each. The best players were Lewis Taylor and Josh Soutter.

The Hoppers’ reserves were also up against an undefeated opponent who were very even across the ground.
It was the singing trio of Jim Reeves, Drew Parker and Will Ulrich who were most prominent, and it was fantastic to see under-14 flag winner Jack Bassett back strutting his stuff.
The team went down by 13 goals, but it was a passable effort.

The thirds played well, but were just not able to keep chains of possession together to press deep into their forward line.
Hemp kicked the only goal, Hodgson is in the best every week, and Ferg continues to learn and grow. Thanks again go to the fourths for topping up.

Under 14s
Rennie 9.4, 15.7, 22.9, 26.14 (170) defeated Katandra 0
The Hoppers kicked nine in the first term to blow the game apart.
It was a very even effort, with Truey, Withers and Cooper kicking five each, and Santoro and Ednie three each.
Santoro was a gun all day, and Cooper enjoyed the chance to get on the scoresheet for the first time since round two.
Huddo Crawf has been in the best for half the matches this year, and Truey has kicked nearly 30 for the season.
It was a solid 170-point win for the boys.

It was another solid effort by the little Hoppers, with flair and finesse being the focus in a fantastic team effort.
Douglass is hard at the ball, and Milky has sublime skills, which showed out in finding his mates when he got the ball. The youngsters should keep the joy.

Netball
A Grade
Rennie 35 defeated by Katandra 57
The scoreboard did not fall Rennie’s way on Saturday, with Rennie going down 35–57 to a strong Katandra outfit.
While the result was disappointing, there were plenty of positives to take from the game as the team continued to show growth and determination.
Katandra applied pressure across the court and made the most of their opportunities, but the Rennie girls never dropped their heads.
Every quarter was contested with plenty of effort, and the team continued to fight for every ball right until the final whistle.
The defensive unit worked tirelessly to create turnovers and slow Katandra’s attacking momentum, while the midcourt battled hard to provide drive and transition through the court.
In attack, the girls showed patience and composure at key moments, converting opportunities and keeping the pressure on.
A special congratulations goes to the award winners: RNC Incentive Award - Leisa Hodgson, Lake Mulwala Hotel Award - Jennika Parker, North East Campers Award - Mia Brogan, Yarra Hotel Award - Demi Rhodes.
While the result was not what Rennie was chasing, the effort, teamwork and resilience shown by the group was something to be proud of. The team will take the lessons from this week, continue building, and look forward to the challenge ahead.
B Grade
Rennie 25 defeated by Katandra 54
Despite the scoreboard not reflecting the result Rennie was hoping for, it certainly felt like a much closer game on court.
The girls did exactly what was asked of them and should be proud of their efforts.
The defenders worked tirelessly all day, applying pressure from start to finish and never giving up on a contest.
The shooters did a fantastic job converting opportunities into goals and, when a shot did not drop, they fought hard for every rebound.
The midcourters worked brilliantly together, driving the ball down the court and creating opportunities in attack through their teamwork, communication and determination.
While the result did not go Rennie’s way, there were plenty of positives to take from the game, with every player contributing and working hard for one another.
At the end of the day, Katandra were too strong and came away with the win, but the effort and commitment shown by the girls was something to be proud of. The Hoppers should keep going.

C Grade
Rennie 33 drew with Katandra 33
This was a tightly contested match from the opening whistle. Rennie were able to capitalise on several turnovers throughout the game, but Katandra consistently responded and kept the pressure on.
Millie and Nada worked tirelessly to apply defensive pressure, getting plenty of hands to the ball and creating valuable opportunities through the court.
Rach was a constant presence in defence, providing strong leadership with her voice, staying tight on her opponent, and helping direct play to Rennie’s advantage.
Tegan moved beautifully in the ring, showing patience when a reset was needed and converting some excellent shots with poise and confidence.
A big thank you goes to Jasi for stepping in seamlessly. She settled into the game immediately and contributed some crucial goals at important moments.

C Reserve
Rennie 8 defeated by Katandra 59
The fog lifted just in time for C Reserve to take on the Kats.
Rennie started the game in their usual positions with the added help of Lacey and Ruby, who was playing her first senior match, alongside Mum for their first game together as well.
But the Kats were strong everywhere and, despite Rennie’s best efforts, the score was getting away from them.
At half-time, the team switched it up for a bit of fun and it was just what was needed.
Edz and Fern worked the ring well in the third, resulting in Edz’s first goal, and the crowd went wild.
Hannah and Loz went into defence and put the pressure on, with Loz outstanding.
In the midcourt, Shez was as reliable as ever, Kate showed some great movement and space, and Lacey provided some run and attack.
Ruby stood her ground in defence with some beautiful rebounds.
After running C in the third, Trudz jumped into goals and scored four in a row to finish the match, securing the Players’ Player Award for the second week running.
The girls should be proud for not giving up and having some fun. Strathy at home next week is the prelude to Ladies Day celebrations.

U17s
Rennie 42 defeated by Katandra 58
A tough mental challenge was the theme of the game against Katandra. With many obstacles to overcome, the girls tried to remain positive and keep possession.
Liv Lewis played one of her best games this season in GK and took out the top award, finding her voice and keeping the team focused.
Tess Bassett again played both ends of the court and shot amazingly.
Charlotte Burrows worked tirelessly and, with endless work, strong drives and a positive attitude, deservedly got into the top players.
Bottom-age player Ruby Long not only played great in the team but got to back it up by playing with her mum in seniors. It was a very special day.
After Rennie’s first loss, it is time to reset, shake a seemingly bad day off, and work hard for the rest of the season.
Coaches Kayla and Paula are both extremely proud of the girls and look forward to the coming weeks.
U15s
Rennie 25 defeated Katandra 14
The under-15s secured a strong 25–14 win with an excellent team performance from start to finish. Chelsea, Maisie and Ava worked well together in the ring, creating space and converting their opportunities under the post.
Through the midcourt, Zali, Dakota and Carla showed great drive and teamwork, moving the ball efficiently and linking defence to attack.
In defence, Sienna, Lily and Ella applied consistent pressure, forcing turnovers and making it difficult for the opposition to find easy scoring opportunities.
The girls showed great communication, determination and teamwork throughout the game, resulting in a well-deserved win.

U13s
Rennie 28 defeated Katandra 8
The under-13s played a strong and competitive game this week, showing excellent teamwork and determination from start to finish. The girls moved the ball well through the court, supported each other in every position, and never stopped working hard.
Darcy had an outstanding game this week. She stepped into some positions she had never played before and handled each role with confidence and determination.
Darcy adapted quickly to the changes, worked hard in every position, and gave her all.
Koda had a fantastic game this week. Her shooting was incredibly accurate, and her movement around the ring was a standout throughout the match.
Koda also stepped into centre for a quarter, where her communication and determination were extremely valuable.
Her ability to adapt to a different role while continuing to contribute positively to the team was wonderful to see.
Ruby Farr’s confidence has really started to shine through on the court, and her driving towards the ball throughout this week’s game was amazing.
Tay also had a fantastic game, creating plenty of opportunities for the team with her ability to read the play. She took multiple intercepts in defence and applied consistent pressure to the opposition.
The girls should be incredibly proud of their efforts this week.
Their teamwork, determination, and willingness to support one another were evident throughout the entire game.
It was fantastic to see the girls’ confidence continue to grow, and the improvements they are making each week are a credit to their hard work at training.
The girls should keep up the great work.
U11s
Emerald
It was a great game for the Emerald team. The girls worked well together and helped the Katandra girls with their positions. It was great to see so many juniors having a go and loving their netball in both teams.
The Emerald team is improving in every game.

Team Green
It was a fantastic game by all of the girls. All girls played a range of positions and were able to adjust to their roles. Their hard work at training is paying off.
The timing of leads, accurate passing, vision down the court and defensive pressure was impressive. The girls should keep up the great work.
