Footy can be a character-building game at times and that’s what the under 14s experienced.
For the last home game for the year, the Pigeons Under 14s took on a very impressive Wodonga Raiders outfit.
They came out strong and scored freely for most of the match and Yarra did their best to arrest their attack but they were just too good.
That being said there were some terrific efforts from a few who worked tirelessly around the ground.
Harry Wren was solid against a sharp full forward and kept him challenged throughout the game.
Ned Saunders who was playing in the midfield then pushed back and gave countless efforts across half back and looked impressive.
Big Jackson Maxted worked hard all day in the ruck and once again gave all he could give to the contest.
Jack Ibrahim was again solid doing the team things all day.
Billy Stevens won plenty of the ball in the pressure contests and worked hard to get the ball to the advantage.
The Under 14s take on St Pats next Sunday in what will be the final game for the 2024 season.
Goals: Ned Saunders, Jackson Maxted, Billy Stevens, Jack Ibrahim, Taylan Renau, Harry Wren.
