Yarrawonga Health have just issued a statement to confirm the new positive COVID-19 case recorded in Moira Shire on Wednesday, August 5 was tested in Melbourne.
The individual was tested in Melbourne and is not residing or self-isolating in the Moira region.
Yarrawonga Health (YH) CEO Ellaine Mallows said YH is committed to providing the community with up to date and transparent information and advice in relation to COVID-19.
“We remind the community to stay vigilant. COVID 19 is expected to emerge within our region as community transmission escalates around the state,” Ms Mallows said.
“We urge anyone in the community if you have any COVID 19 symptoms - no matter how mild - i.e. fever, sore throat, cough, shortness of breath, runny nose, loss of sense of smell or loss of sense of taste, to get tested by calling 03 57438132.
“If the community have any concerns remember that they can call the Department of Health and Human Services Coronavirus Hotline on 1800 675 398.
“We must work together to help stop the spread and protect our community.
“We have seen in the media the distressing consequences of uncontained community transmission in other regions and it is time now to work together as a community to do everything we can as individuals and as a collective to help stop the spread.”
