Social dance popular

By Yarrawonga Chronicle

Thirty-nine dancers moved to the beat of music played by DJ Graeme Wedmore recently in the Yarrawonga Community Hall.

Over half arrived early to learn the Idaho Foxtrot and later-on, mastering the Rock’nRoll “Switch” involved a little confusion and a lot of laughs.

As usual, dancers provided a delicious supper including sandwiches, savoury platters, cakes, slices and fruit.

Tourists from Korrumburra and Chadstome were welcomed and spontaneously praised the floor and dimensions of the community hall.  They were very surprised to be told that the hall is under threat of demolition by Moira Shire Council.

The Mulwala/Yarrawonga Social Dance Group would like to thank all of the dancers and music providers who have supported us in 2019, and monthly raffle prize donors, Burkes Hotel for their vouchers and Leo Kelly for his bottles of Burramine Shiraz.

The first dance for 2020 will be on Australia Day, January 25, at 7.30pm. in the Yarrawonga Community Hall.
