The choir was delighted to sing some carols and receive a very generous $200 cheque from the Masonic Lodge of St. David, Yarrawonga last Wednesday night.
The gift will enable the purchase of new music, which the choir love singing and sharing with the community.
The choir has already been busy singing Christmas carols at the Anglican “Friendlies” and look forward to “Carols on the Lagoon” at the Mulwala Water Ski Club this Friday.
They will continue to bring very lively entertainment to many of Yarrawonga’s residents at the Allawah and Karana Christmas parties.
It is wonderful to experience the way in which the Christmas songs bring back so many happy memories to elderly residents and others.
It is a joy to see them join in the singing and to introduce them to less well known beautiful Advent and Christmas songs, both old and new.
This Sunday, December 15 the choir will present their annual evening of wonderfully rich Christmas music, song and story, as they join with the combined local churches to bring much of the joy of Christmas to Yarrawonga and Mulwala residents.
After the combined churches’ event, the choir’s Christmas season concludes with their participation in the Epiphany service at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Sunday, January 5.
So, to get yourself fully into the Christmas spirit, bring your family and friends at 7.30pm this Sunday night to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Murphy Street, and participate in a great evening of Christmas entertainment and carol singing with the Yarrawonga Mulwala Ecumenical Choir’s “Christmas Carols and Readings”.
Supper will be served after.
