The biennial awards showcase excellence and innovation throughout Moira Shire across a range of business and industry categories.
Moira Shire Council chair administrator, Dr Graeme Emonson said the event was a celebration of local business achievements, and recognised growth, leadership, sustainability and great service.
“Council is proud to host the 2026 Moira Shire Business Excellence Awards,” Dr Emonson said.
“This is an opportunity for members of the community to show appreciation for local businesses and to thank the business owners, managers and staff who are the backbone of our community.
“Successful businesses not only fuel our economy but add to the vitality and vibrancy of our region.”
Members of the public have until Sunday, August 16 to nominate an exceptional or inspiring business, trainee or business champion for an award at: https://www.moira.vic.gov.au/Business/2026-Moira-Shire-Business-Excellence-Awards.
You can speak with our Economic Development Team for assistance by calling (03) 5871 9222.
Organisations may also self-nominate to recognise the achievements of their staff and business.
Following the nomination period, there will be two weeks for nominated businesses to submit their entries online.
These submissions will be assessed, with finalists announced on Monday, September 7.
In a change from previous awards that were based on a popular vote, this year a judging panel will visit every finalist before selecting the winners in each category.
The winners will be revealed at a gala ceremony on Thursday, October 15 at Max’s at the Beach in Cobram.
There’ll be more information to come about this exciting event closer to the date.
