The board of SPC Global, as it is known, is recommending a change from the century-old SPC name to ‘Altiva’ to reflect the diversity of food operations it now runs.

The name change will be put to shareholders at the company’s annual meeting on November 24.

The News understands the company will continue to use the SPC brand name for some products.

SPC managing director Robert Iervasi said the company had brought together complementary businesses across food, beverages and dairy, each with strong brands and an expanding international presence.

“Each of our trading divisions will continue to shape the group’s future, with the proposed Altiva Global identity bringing their collective strengths and ambitions together,” he said.

“Our strategy is to build on those collective strengths as one integrated group.

“The proposed name give us a clear corporate identity to support that direction, while preserving the individual identities of our business divisions and brands our customers and consumers know and trust.”
