Spring is the perfect time to get active, get outdoors and enjoy the beautiful waters of Lake Mulwala.
Whether you’re a beginner or have experience and are keen to get back on the water, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved, meet new people and enjoy the many activities that the Yarrawonga Yacht Club has to offer.
“Everyone is welcome, but this season we’re particularly keen to support Juniors at our club,” YYC Commodore Ken Cameron said.
“If you’re keen to try sailing or paddling, there are plenty of opportunities to give it a go, and if you’re an experienced sailor without a boat, don’t let that stop you.”
YYC is building its Junior Dragon Boat Paddling squad for anyone over 12, while Junior Sailing Lessons for 8–14 year olds begin Saturday, October 10.
Boats and equipment are provided for beginners.
Prefer to stay on dry ground?
Come along and try Radio Controlled Sailing on Wednesday or Saturday mornings from 9:30am with four beginner RC boats available, and instruction from our enthusiastic yachties.
For those looking for a little more action, Dragon Boat Paddling is a fun and social way to get active.
With 40 seats across two boats, there’s always room for more. Expect plenty of laughter, the occasional serious moment when the Sweep applies the pressure, and maybe a little splash.
Paddling is available every Saturday 8:30 - 10am and during daylight savings we add in Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 - 7pm … making exercise fun.
So, why not make this spring the season to get fit and meet new friends.
The YYC Clubhouse is open every Saturday from 8:30am–1pm, so drop in and say 'Hi!'.
We also offer social fun every Friday from October 9, join us at YYC ‘Happy Hours’ with free live music, food vans and the best sunsets over Lake Mulwala.
No need to be a member, we’re open to everyone in our community.
